Design Wall (DW):
The idea for this came from Cheryl Lynch. You can see her blog at:
1. Here is the faux bamboo window shade covered with an F & P design wall.
The F & P design wall is 60”w X 72”L. One side is a plastic grid, the other is flannel (like an oil cloth table cloth). There were grommets at the top, but they didn’t work here, so I took my rotary cutter and cut a strip off of the top. Eventually, I will surge the top edge.
They came with the shade. Be careful not to install too close to the ceiling.
The F & P design wall is shown over the shade with the flannel side out.
3. I pulled back the flannel so you can see that it is attached to the shade with adhesive Velcro. There is one long strip on the top. Nothing on the bottom. And, several dots of Velcro on each side. The fuzzy side of the Velcro is attached to the F & P part. NO SEWING!
5. All rolled up and out of the way! This could be taken down and stored. Or, just the flannel could be rolled up and taken down. Either way, it’s very versatile.
6. The DW is now ready to be used. You can see the grid showing thru.
I also noticed that the pieces can be pinned on. Good to know, but I will mostly let the flannel hold the pieces.
