This month, the Omaha Quilters’ Guild invited Lyric Kinard to speak at our meeting and hold a workshop during the day. I was lucky enough to attend her workshop.
I’m not new to many of the surface design techniques she covered, but I learned something new about each one. There are new products on the market that she introduced us to, and we were able to try them out. We created stamps, stencils, and played with foiling and thermofaxes. She has a nifty way of putting together a book cover. You can check out her tutorial at www.lyrickinard.com.
Here’s a picture of Lyric showing some of her beading techniques. We played from 9 until almost 4 p.m. It seemed as if I arrived at 9, blinked, and then it was 4. Maybe, you’ll have an opportunity to take her class.
