Today I’m sewing strips and piecing blocks. My machine doesn’t need oiling—yet.
I changed the needle. Always a good thing.
I also used a new foot that came with a guide. This means perfect ¼” seams—or where ever you set the gauge. Check out the pictures for the gauge.
I also changed the throat plate from the wide hole to the small one. It makes using a straight stitch easier, but you have to remember to change it to the wider hole if you want to use a zig-zag or similar stitch. Or, you will break a needle. Piecing was easy, fast, and consistent.
